Recovery Boiler Area DCS Upgrade | |
| KMH provided detailed field, DCS and PLC design for the automation upgrade for a Power Boiler, Black Liquor Evaporators, Recovery Boiler and Turbine Generator. Also provided was an E&I construction bid specification, construction supervision, commissioning and startup support. | |

Burner Management Systems | |
| KMH has completed the detailed design and audits of various burner management systems and assessed compliance with applicable CSA and TSSA standards. Detailed field audits and review of system equipment, drawings and logic configuration was undertaken and evaluated with the requirements of current standards. Required documentation was also assembled for submission to the appropriate regulating authority. | |

Soot Blowers | |
![]() | KMH completed the detailed design for the installation and control of automated Recovery and Multifuel Boiler sootblower control and sequencing systems. Various projects have included Cutler Hammer MCC's c/w DeviceNet equipped starters, GE 90-30 PLC's, Siemens S7 PLC's, ABB/Bailey DCS, and Foxboro I/A DCS systems. PLC programming and DCS configuration was included. |

Feedwater Water Treatment | |
![]() | KMH completed the electrical and instrument installation design to replace all existing panel controls. A GE Series 6+ PLC was utilized to control regeneration of six ion exchange demineralizers. All auxiliary equipment for sulfuric acid and caustic soda injection was upgraded as well. |

Precipitator Vibrator Controls Upgrade | |
![]() | KMH provided the detailed design for the integration of Vibrator rapper controls from a Hamon-Research-Cottrell control system into a Siemens S7 PLC and Foxboro DCS systems. Design included an operator interface for entering vibrator cycle sequences and for switching between preset and custom rapping sequences. |

Turbine Control Panel Elimination | |
| KMH provided the detailed electrical and instrumentation design for the elimination of a hardwired turbine-generator control panel and integration into an ABB DCS based control system. | |

Utility Boiler Attemperator Advanced Controls | |
| KMH developed an advanced control algorithm for the control of an attemperator system on a coal fired utility boiler. The successful implementation of the control strategy on the client's Foxboro DCS system resulted in dramatic improvements in the overall control of the plant's high pressure steam system. | |

| KMH completed the detailed electrical and instrumentation design for Babcock & Wilcox for the replacement of auxiliary fuel burners on a black liquor recovery boiler. Commissioning and start-up services were also provided. | |

Recovery Boiler ESP System Audit | |
| KMH has completed audits of black liquor recovery boiler to asses compliance with guidelines issued by the Black Liquor Recovery Boiler Advisory Committee (BLRBAC). Items found not to be in compliance were documented and presented to the client. | |
