Essar Steel Algoma Inc. has awarded KMH Engineering Inc. the contract for the provision of detailed engineering services to develop and implement an Energy Optimization control method for fuels, steam and power generation at their Sault St. Marie plant. The control method will maximize the use of by-product gases (Blast Furnace Gas and Coke Oven Gas) for generating steam and power and in turn minimize wasteful flaring of by product gases.
