KMH Engineering' provided detailed installation design , PLC and HMI programming as well as the detailed hardware specification.
This project involved the replacement of an aging Cutler Hammer D100 PLC with a Schneider Electric Twido PLC to control the operation of a 500kw hydro generating station. This upgrade involved the addition of a touch panel HMI allowing the operator a more graphical representation of the generating system. The second phase of this project involved the addition of a internet connected network through which the operator is able to control the generating station and access newly installed security cameras. The remote access enables the operator to inspect the site operations remotely with a commercially available smart phone.
Commissioning of this project is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2010.
