KMH Provides Detailed E&I Design and Automation Services for Turbo Blower Controls Upgrade

June 16, 2008: The scope of this project was to upgrade the existing instrumentation on a steel plant cold blast Turbo Blower and install a new turbo blower control package supplied by Compressor Controls Corp.

A new Foxboro distributed control system (DCS) I/O cabinet was installed as part of the project. All new instrumentation and interface to the Compressor Controls Corp. controls was integrated into the Foxboro DCS system. The DCS monitors the Turbo Blower operation and allows the operator to change remote setpoints to the CCC controls when required. 

Existing electronic instrumentation was re-connected to the DCS.  Where required, new instrumentation was installed to complete the scope of the controls upgrade.
