April 2, 2002: KMH has received an order to complete a detailed electrical energy audit of the Smurfit-Stone paper mill. The audit will include a review of motors, drives, lighting, power metering, and major electrical equipment. Process trends and electrical loads will be analyzed to locate potential areas for improvements in electrical energy efficiency. Capital cost estimates and payback calculations will be completed for proposed modifications such as variable speed drive installations.
