March 1, 2004: KMH Engineering Inc. has been contracted to develop and implement an advanced combustion control strategy for a B&W hog fuel boiler at a kraft pulp mill in North-Western Ontario. New advanced control strategies including combustion air and fuel delivery (Bunker "C" oil and hog fuel) will be applied in order to maximize hog fuel burning and minimize the consumption of oil. Maintaining automatic control of critical control loops is a primary objective of the project in order to maximize the effectiveness of the control system during all boiler operating conditions.
