Marko started his career in 1990 with Canadian Pacific Forest Products (now Bowater) in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He worked there as the Paper Mill Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsible for the design, commissioning, start-up and maintenance of PLC systems including those on Valmet's No. 5 Paper Machine and Winder.
He left this position in 1993 to represent Canada internationally as a member of the National Cross Country Ski Team.
In 1995 he began providing consulting services to the Pulp and Paper Industry. Demands for his services grew and in 1997 KMH Engineering Inc. was created.
Marko is considered to be a PLC/Controls Systems Specialist.
Recently he led a Siemens S5 to S7 conversion project for the wet end of a Valmet Fine Paper Machine. This project was completed in conjunction with a paper machine optimization project. The project included a completely redesigned Break Automatics System as well as the reprogramming of Former and Press Interlocking under the direction of a Metso Start-Up Engineer.
